Dr Douglas K, a counselling psychologist by profession and a certified Reiki Master Teacher, has been portraying Christmas Father (Santa Claus) continuously for the past 40 years, making him one of the most enduring and dedicated Christmas ambassadors in Kerala.
His journey as Christmas Father began during his school days and has continued uninterrupted to the present day, touching the lives of thousands across generations. Over the years, Dr Douglas K has brought Christmas cheer through advertisement films, church programmes, club functions, carol services, and public celebrations.
A significant milestone in his journey is his recognition as the first Christmas Father to appear in a Kerala Government Lottery ticket advertisement on Doordarshan, marking a historic moment in the state’s Christmas celebrations.
For the past 10 years, Dr Douglas K has also been leading his own Christmas Carol Group, spreading the message of love, hope, and harmony through music and community outreach.
His remarkable four-decade-long continuity as Christmas Father is being widely acknowledged as a rare achievement and is often regarded as a potential world-record-worthy feat, symbolising unwavering commitment, service, and festive spirit.
